Georgian National Ballet Sukhishvili was founded by Ilia Sukhishvili and Nino Ramishvili in 1945 and was Georgia's first professional state dance troupe. Their unique presentation Georgian folk dances of Georgia and the Caucasus with modern elements combines complex and demanding choreography with the perfectly synchronized troupe movements and the individual performers' astonishing technical skills.They are the only dance ensemble that set a world record on Milan's famous La Scala stage. The concert caused a furor: the curtain of the theater was drawn 14 times, so the record of Enrico Caruso was broken when the curtain was drawn 11 times. The team’s performance was recognized as the best Broadway show twice.
